In support of the growth in business, the company has opened a new office in the UK while recently naming a new Director of Operations in Europe and making strategic hires to support key European markets.

On February 29, 2012, Liferay announces the End of Version for Liferay 5.2 EE. The last date to order Liferay 5.2 EE (Last Ship Date) is May 31, 2012.

In accordance with our End of Life Service policy, customers with active support contracts will continue to receive Basic or Extended Support for Liferay Portal 5.2 EE based on their software purchase level.

Basic Support: Includes access to Liferay Patch Updates and Liferay Service Packs developed during the 4-year software support cycle starting from the First Ship Date for each Liferay version.
Extended Support: Includes Basic Support and an additional 5 years of support beyond the Last Ship Date (LSD) of a specific Liferay version. Extended Support will be divided into two phases: Phase 1 (Full) Support and Phase 2 (Limited) Support.

Phase 1 (Full) Support: Liferay will provide customers with support in accordance with the SLA of the customer's support contract with Liferay.
Phase 2 (Limited) Support: Liferay will provide customers with support limited to Service Packs in accordance with the SLA of the customer's support contract with Liferay.

With Liferay Sync, users now have the ability to access documents stored within a Liferay instance from their mobile devices and desktops. Documents can be dragged and dropped into a synchronized folder and then be edited, moved, or deleted. Sync automatically takes care of revision management.

Bay Area executive adds finance, legal, consulting expertise to enterprise portal leader’s management team.

LOS ANGELES--(PRWeb)--Liferay, Inc., provider of the world’s leading enterprise-class open source portal, announced today that Scott Tachiki, a seasoned financial executive, has joined the company’s leadership team as Chief Financial Officer.

Tachiki brings about 20 years of business experience in management, corporate law and accounting. Before joining Liferay, he served as Chief Operating Officer and acting Chief Financial Officer at 4D Global Partners, a consumer electronics sales and marketing company based in Northern California.

Tachiki’s hire follows Liferay’s strong financial performance in the first half of 2011. As Vice President of Business Development at LearningGate.com, a web-based grade book for teachers, he managed operations and successfully structured, negotiated and closed the sale of the company. Tachiki received his law degree from the Boalt Hall School of Law at UC Berkeley and his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from UC Berkeley.
