Hi,

I came across the need to quickly create lots of hierarchical pages and made the "Sitemap to Community Generator Portlet" to do it. Given input of a sitemap in "Emacs Outline" format, it generates the corresponding pages in the current community.

Thanks.

Thanks. I like your Wordpress importer as well. Although this is simple, perhaps the community is interested in more migration and management tools.

Sure! I think these kind of tools are SUPER useful for the community.
I think your portlet can be the starting point for a big new feature for next versions, enabling advanced mass page management, which I think is really needed.
Do you have any ideas of more tools like these? It'll be nice to share those ideas to see if there are some community members willing to contribute and participate in its development as community projects.
Thanks!
Juan

Hey Juan,
I'm fresh out of ideas for content migration right now, but I have another idea I'm excited to share with you and the community at large. Recently I wanted to host a Liferay for demo purposes, but did not want to pay $50+/month for a Java Host. Instead, I put my home internet connection to good use by putting following proxy.php and .htaccess files on a hosted PHP server:
http://bvakili.com/.htaccess.txt
http://bvakili.com/proxy.php.txt (this file is being updated daily to improve the proxy script)
So now, I am paying for a PHP server with Apache and getting a Liferay server that fits my demo and personal needs. Hope this attracts more Drupal or other users (e.g. Elgg) who have demos or personal interest in Liferay.
I explain what the proxy.php and .htaccess do on following Wiki:
http://www.liferay.com/community/wiki/-/wiki/Main/Hosting+Liferay+for+Personal+Use
Thanks.

Hey,

I have some ideas for improving the "Sitemap to Community Generator" portlet and expect to release the following changes this weekend:

1. Allow selecting a root node to attach the pages
2. Allow advanced bulk permission changes to pages in a community
3. Allow copying pages (and it's children) from one group to another without having to use Export/Import feature
4. Allow defining page types, templates, and layouts in the sitemap.
5. ??? not sure what else, but open to suggestions.

Thanks.
