Hi,

I would like to know on how to redirect the url when user types in "http://<DOMAIN_NAME>:8443" to "https://<DOMAIN_NAME>:8443".

Currently when user give https it works fine but when user enters http it opens a BIN file. (Its not redirected properly).

Thanks

Usually this is done at Apache web server by adding a redirect rule.

What about if you are using Tomcat on port 80 and 443 and not using Apache or another web server to forward on requests?

If you don't have apache or other web server, then Liferay has a url rewrite filter. But this should be worse for performance than having apache do it.

See ROOT/WEB-INF/urlrewrite.xml
