We have found the Open in MS Office feature to work very inconsistently in 6.0.6 CE and would like to disable it so it does not show up. I tried this in the portal-ext.properties file:
1    #
2    # The Sharepoint filter allows users to access documents in the Document
3    # Library directly from Microsoft Office using the Sharepoint protocol.
4    #
5    com.liferay.portal.sharepoint.SharepointFilter=false

It does not take the option away. Will the only way be to override that jsp file?

Another way to disable it would be to edit your liferay-portlet.xml and comment out (for doc lib):

1<webdav-storage-token>document_library</webdav-storage-token>
2<webdav-storage-class>com.liferay.portlet.documentlibrary.webdav.DLWebDAVStorageImpl</webdav-storage-class>

This would, however, remove the ability to use the webdav feature as well.
