Hi,

Running Liferay 6.0 EE (sp2), importing users from Active Driectory. No matter how many users there are, the user list has "Showing 1 - 20 of 10,000 results".

Is this a bug?

Thanks

Ben

Hi Ben,
We were facing the same issue. Imported around 22000 users from old to new db but in Liferay>>Control Panel>>Users & Organizations the user list was "Showing 1-20 of 10,000 results".
Moreover one of our portlets which displays the users also didn't pick up any one of the remaining 12k. Checked in the db and all the 22000 users were existing there.

How we solved this was by adding an additional property:
index.search.limit=100000

in the file portal-ext.properties (located at \\liferay-portal-6.1.1-ce-ga2\tomcat-7.0.27\webapps\ROOT\WEB-INF\classes directory)

This allowed Liferay to index more than the 10,000 user limit which we were hitting.

Best regards-
Shammy

All of the users are getting indexed - it's just that the default limit that the search container will return is 10k (and setting that property above makes it give back more results).

Increasing the property will also use more memory and cpu so watch performance.

hello all,

i have the same issue. A search just delivers results from users shown in the list?? (means if i have 100000 portal users i can just search 10000 with default configuration or does the search (controllpanel .. users) delivers results from ALL users?)

best regards

Hi Michael,
Yes, the search will just deliver results from just the 10,000 users which are beign displayed. In order to jump over that limit, you need to set the property for the search as described above.

Hope it helps.

Hello,

thanks for that! It really looks like i can't find users not included in that list of 10000 users.
I think if you use "users.search.with.index=false" in portal-ext.properties the list also should contain all users..

This is my config
My Server:
- liferay-portal-tomcat-6.1.2-ce-ga3 (bundle with tomcat)
- PostgresSQL9.3
- Open LDAP 2.4.23

My config:
ldap.import.method=user
ldap.page.size=30000
index.search.limit=50000
organizations.search.with.index=false
users.search.with.index=false
