Hi there,

I try to get the WYSIWYG-Editor running, but I first have some questions:

1) I took a look at the Book "Liferay User Interace Development". There is written, you can change the configuration of what editor is used:
"You can configure individual JSP pages to use a specific implementation of the available WYSIWYG editors:
CKEditor, FCKeditor, liferay, simple, TinyMCE, or tinymcesimple.
1editor.wysiwyg.default=fckeditor
"

My Question:
In which versions are the versions build in Liferay? And what are the "liferay" and "simple" editors? I have never heard before.
Is there an overview about the editors?

2) It is also written that the configuration is made in the portal-ext.properties
This would imply that you can only define it for the whole portal, right?
Or is it possible to have different editors in different portlets/pages?

3) Can you give me your personal recomendations about the given editors? I have never worked with one of them, an because
I have to customize them a little bit, I don't want to do this work twice.

Regards,
Timo

You can try switching the editor by creating portal-ext.properties file and changing editor.wysiwyg.default values.
The default in Liferay 6.x is ckeditor

It's also possible to programmically change editor but having different editors may confuse users.

Thanks for your reply.

I don't want to use different editors for all users (agree that would confuse them), but our Admin wants more privileges than our "normal" users.

Do you know whether it is also possible to deactivate copy & paste for images?
I know I can disable the icons in the icon bar, but the user can still send an image to the server via copy paste (it is Base64 encoded).

Timo
