Hi

MOD_JK is deprecated on newer instalations of Apache since Apache 2.2 is MOD_PROXY_AJP almost suggestet. Here is an example about an virtual Host there is listening on an ipv4 and also on an ipv6 address. You also need an NameVirtualHost directive for your addresses in your httpd.conf
synopsys:

69.147.83.40 the ipv4 address
2001:4f8:fff6::28 the ipv6 address
10.0.0.4 the address from your appserver. You could also use 127.0.0.1 if appserver and apache httpd are both in the same box.
:80 the Port

 1
 2<VirtualHost 69.147.83.40:80 [2001:4f8:fff6::28]:80>
 3    ServerAdmin webmaster@dummy-host.example.com
 4    ServerName dummy-host.example.com
 5    ServerAlias www.dummy-host.example.com dummy-host.example.net www.dummy-host.example.net
 6    ProxyRequests Off
 7    ProxyPass / ajp://10.0.0.4:8009/
 8    ProxyPassReverse / ajp://10.0.0.4:8009/
 9    ErrorLog "/var/log/httpd-error.log"
10    CustomLog "/var/log/httpd-access.log" combined
11    LogLevel warn
12    <Location />
13       Order allow,deny
14       Allow from all
15     </Location>
16</VirtualHost>

Please use always "ProxyRequests Off" so that people outside in the web don't do some nasty stupid things with your httpd

If you have deployed liferay on an context path like /liferay on your appserver the you shoul use "ProxyPass /liferay ajp://10.0.0.4:8009/liferay". To hind the context on apache httpd you could use MOD_PROXY_HTML. Please note that you have to front some portlets like themes too.

Could you please explain what this sentence means? To hide content, or what?

Could you please provide some more details? What does it mean "to front some portlets like themes" ? How to "front" a "theme"?
Thanks!

I've been slowly moving dnebinger.com to a new linux server, and the sites not up yet...

Google may actually have a cached view....
