Hello,

we currently develop an Ext plugin for Liferay 6.1.0 with a tomcat bundle using the Liferay SDK. During the development of this Ext plugin several questions have arrised:

  1. ExtPlugin/docroot/WEB-INF/ext-impl/ext-impl.jar will not be copied to tomcat/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/lib during the hot deployment of the ExtPlugin war. Is this a bug? Is there another way to do this?
  2. Is it possible to delete libraries included in tomcat/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/lib with an Ext plugin?

regards,
Philipp

Is it possible to delete libraries included in tomcat/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/lib with an Ext plugin?

ext plugin is used to over write. It won't delete files. Any how, is there any reason for wanting to delete lib files in ROOT portlet? It just seems to make liferay unstable.

The problem is, that we have a library named jai_imageio.jar, which expects if jai_core.jar /jai_codec.jar is available, that they are used by the same class loader. Therefore we have to delete those two libraries from tomcat/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/lib/ and add them into tomcat/lib/ext/ together with jai_imageio.jar

Hi,

I have now a workaround for my second problem, but I'm stilling facing the first one.

Has anyone an idea how to become the ext-impl.jar into ROOT/WEB-INF/lib

regards,
Philipp

You'll have to manually delete them.

If you already deployed your ext plugin, you'll have to clean it first before redeploying it because liferay only allows 1 ext plugin to be deployed once without cleaning up the earlier deployment.
