We need to upgrade our Liferay portal to version 5.1.2. We run Liferay on a Glassfish application server. I noticed that there are no glassfish bundles available for 5.1.2. How much of a problem is that for us? Is there a way I can work around that?

I have tried to deploy liferay-portal-5.1.2-servlet23.war and liferay-portal-5.1.2.war on glassfish-v3-prelude, but completely got failed.
have any one of you tried it, waiting for help.

Hi Adeel,

If you want LR 5.1.2 on GF v2, I will suggest you to download 5.1.2 source code from branch and build it locally. It is pretty simple and we can help you, in case you face any issue.

You need following s/w to build and install LR locally.

1. SVN client
2. JDK 1.5
3. Ant 1.7
4. Glassfish (from https://glassfish.dev.java.net/downloads/v2ur2-b04.html)
5. LR source (using SVN client)

The URL to be used for LR source code download is https://lportal.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/lportal/portal/branches/5.2.x/

Please download and install these s/w in the order 1-4.

I can help you installing Glassfish, if you are not familiar.

I will post build instructions one you are ready with all these.

we are trying to deploy LR 5.1.2 over GlassFish v2, but we can't deploy the application on the server.
We use all you have said in your previous post, with LR 5.1.2 code, we can build the ext evironment, but when we try to deploy our application, the system crashes.

Can you (or anybody) help us?
