Im trying to add a LDAP server into my instance. Fresh instance here nothing changed. Using mySQL and CentOS.

  • I click on portal settings
  • Then authentication
  • LDAP
  • Then when i hit the add LDAP server i get thrown back to the portal settings page

No errors in catalina.out....Im pretty stumped. Is this a known issue? Going to try in another browser see if thats the problem have no idea though?

Any thoughts...?

Thanks

Hi William,

that's interesting, I posted a similar problem some days ago (http://www.liferay.com/community/forums/-/message_boards/message/16896015) although I did see some error messages in the logs.
At least I am not the only one seeing this ...

I did not yet confirm it but I am using a reverse proxy for accessing my liferay site and did not get the error message / LDAP add problem when connecting directly to the site. I'll try to reproduce this asap ...

Are you accessing your site directly?

regards,
markus

You have to setup host in Portal Settings.

Hi,

Are you accessing Liferay behind a front-end (like apache or whatever)? If this is true, and this should be the same for Markus, you probably want o check the following properties:
 1
 2##
 3## Redirect
 4##
 5
 6    #
7    # Set this property to "ip" or "domain" for the redirect security method. If
8    # set to "domain", the portal will only redirect users to domains listed in
9    # the property "redirect.url.domain.allowed". If set to "ip", the portal
10    # will only redirect to domains whose IP address resolve to an IP address
11    # listed in the property "redirect.url.ip.allowed".
12    #
13    #redirect.url.security.mode=domain
14    redirect.url.security.mode=ip
15
16    #
17    # Input a list of comma delimited domains which the portal is allowed to
18    # redirect to. Input a blank list to allow any domain.
19    #
20    redirect.url.domains.allowed=
21
22    #
23    # Input a list of comma delimited IPs which the portal is allowed to
24    # redirect to. Input a blank list to allow any IP. SERVER_IP will be
25    # replaced with the IP of the host server.
26    #
27    redirect.url.ips.allowed=127.0.0.1,SERVER_IP

Please note that if you want to keep redirect.security.mode=ip you have to add the IP of your front end in the redirect.url.ips.allowed list.

Regards,
Riccardo

Hi Riccardo,

thanks for your remark on this.
I have added these settings to portal-ext.properties and check if I see something changing. At least right now after restarting liferay it seems to work still, though as LDAP is already configured (and I did not yet observe the problem elsewhere) it may be hard to see a problem.
As soon as I have more information I'll port here.

Thanks for your help!

regards,
Markus

Will try this and respond with update. Wasn't sure if it was a bug in the new release.

Thanks

Yes you are correct it was a typo in the redirect.

Thanks
