Hi All,
I have created 2 company inside liferay using liferay portal instance.
Like Test1.com and Test2.com and by default liferay.com.

now i am planning to
create a user with screen name user1 in liferay.com with email id user1@liferay.com (output is good, user created) but
when i try to create a user with screen name user1 in Test1.com with email id user1@Test1.com (i am getting error screen name already exist emoticon)
similarly i am trying to create user1 in Test2.com with email id user1@Test2.com...

The idea behind is trying to create 2 different company(extranet) and one is liferay.com which will be worked as intranet or internal.

Could you please suggest your views or idea or i am missing some point.

Thanks in Advance. Appreciate your input.

Unfortunately, that's the specification. Try setting up different liferay instances (using liferay's multi-tenant feature) for each company.

Hi Hitoshi,
Thank you very much for your reply. In Liferay specification this is very good and powerful feature.

i have logged in as admin user in liferay.com and in control panel ,i have clicked in portal instances.added two instance as Test1.com and Test2.com,its sucessfully created , and now i want to register 1 users named as user1 in Test1.com instance and one user in user1 in Test2.com,could you please suggest if i am missing any steps. Also created host entry for resolving domain name.

I just tested what you described, and it should work. Make sure you're using Portal Instances for each site and not Sites.

Hi Samuel,
Thank you very much for the reply.
yes i tried above steps.
and tried to create user1@liferay.com with screen name user1 ,its successful but when i create another user on same url.
and i signed out and closed that browser ,opened new browser with http://Test1:8080,i have got log in screen with create account link so i clicked on that link.
and i tried to fill user1@Test1.com with screen name user1 but i am getting the error "The screen name you requested is already taken.".
Do i need to configure any other steps like create site ? Please suggest.
After creating portal instance ,how to test the portal instance running.or pointing to that new portal instance.please suggest

Appreciate your help.

Thanks in Advance.

Are you sure you're hitting the second portal instance? If you log in with an admin account on Test1:8080, do you see a user1 user? If you are, you're probably hitting the same portal instance.

Are you sure you are creating portal instances and not sites? Did you setup host file? If not, you probably haven't setup up portal instance.
