Hey Tobias,

Could you review the changes related to renaming Journal articles as Web Content? You can see the details in this other post I wrote:

http://www.liferay.com/web/guest/community/forums/-/message_boards/message/1940360

Once you make these changes I'll commit the translation. BTW, you only need to send the .native file. Also a patch (diff) of that file and knowing which revision of it you used as a base would be very helpful.

Hi Tobias,

I've seen Amos has already committed your translation. In any case if you could review it to update the entries related to web content I would appreciate it.

Thanks

I will change that today. Hopefully it is not to late for the 5.2 release

Since the trunk and the 5.2 branch version differ... which one will be in the 5.2 release?

Hi Tobias,

Until 5.2.0 is released just use trunk. Both branches are synced up periodically.

If you have the translation during the morning it will most probably still be on time for 5.2.0. Otherwise, no worries, it'll be in 5.2.1.

PS: to keep you guys informed, the packaging process is taking longer than expected due to some unexpected issues with the new WSRP 2.0 support with some app servers. As a result we're having to repackage all that functionality as a plugin. Thanks for your patience.

Also a big thank you from me - the translation got out of my view and I'm happy that the mess seems to be cleaned up completely. I feared I had to go through the remaining stuff that I missed with LPS-256. So happy that it's done for 5.2 and I didn't have to do it.

Kudos - it's hard work.

Hi,
we have done some few corrections in the language_de.properties and would like to upload it to someone who could merge it into Liferay. Whom can I send the file to?

Examples for words, which needed correction:
Abkürzungen, Aufwartung, Gewinde, Unterzeichnen Sie innen, Niedriges Versorger URL, Unterseite Dn, Benutzer-Diagramm, Schirm-Name, Einzelteile pro Seite, Planschablone

Hi,
The way to send in patches is through Jira, i.e. http://issues.liferay.com/ , just as the ones above. Get an account there, open a ticket, attach your changes and set it to "contributed solution" (you need to accept the license then).
I suspect though, because Tobias and I have changed quite a lot since 5.1.2 (that has made it's way into 5.2.x) that these have already been fixed - at least in 5.2.x. - at least the "Unterzeichnen Sie innen" is definitely fixed, that was the one that triggered my first round of half a language file translation in 5.1.2. (until I ran out of time and Tobias seems to have taken care of the rest). You might want to compare your changes with the current translations, either from http://svn.liferay.com/repos/public/portal/trunk/portal-impl/src/content/, probably compared with the two currently "waiting" patches in LPS-2343 and LPS-2363.
Cheers,
Olaf

Hi,
I have taken the language_de.properties file from
http://svn.liferay.com/repos/public/portal/trunk/portal-impl/src/content/,
as recommended by Olaf Kock. Thanks, Olaf, for guiding me.

I have added our corrections and did some other.
My personal highlights (before correction):

Bauen Sie die Aktenantriebskrafteinstellungen zusammen.
Akten-Antriebskr\u00e4fte
Ankommender Hafen
Bringen Sie mehr Anwendungen an
Einzelteile pro Seite
Unterzeichnen Sie bitte innen, um dieses zu kennzeichnen, wie nicht angebracht.
Suchen Sie dieses Faltblatt

Then I have added the language_de.properties as attachment to LPS-2363 (http://issues.liferay.com/browse/LPS-2363).

I hope, somebody can make use of it.

Hi Jorge,
sorry, it's currently a bit difficult for me, as I've broken a) my glasses and b) my nose. Therefor either reading or writing works, but both simultaneously (i.e. during merge) is extremely difficult. :-(
Irina - could you provide your differences in a "patch" format? This way they would be more easy to merge - i.e. both patches would have to be applied in order, simply ignoring the conflicts, as most likely we both have translated them.
Same goes for Tobias' translations, as our changes overlapped and he has also provided the complete file. That's the reason for my last comments on LPS-2343 and LPS-2363.
I should - in my previous answer - have been more specific on the easiest format to use for submitting the patches - i.e. as svn patch.
Irina - do you know how to provide an svn patch file?
Another easy possibility for you (Jorge) is to substitute Irinas complete file first and my patch last, ignoring or overriding possible conflicts. I suppose that either translation is better than the previous - potentially machine-generated - translation.
Sorry, it will take a while for me to get fully operational again.

Salut Olaf,
sounds like you've been playing a rough sport?

Olaf Kock:

Olaf

The answer is "no". We are using SVN here, though. Maybe, if you give me a hint, I could ask our SVN experts.

The answer is "no". We are using SVN here, though. Maybe, if you give me a hint, I could ask our SVN experts.

You'd need to checkout the file from svn with your favourite svn client, then apply your changes (or just replace if it hasn't yet been changed) and force svn to issue a patch. If you've got svn experts available this should be no problem for them - especially as long as you know the original version your changed file is based upon (and that one is still the HEAD version).
This was what kept me from merging my fix with Tobias' version, as I didn't exactly know what svn-revision he based his version on and I intended to "just merge quickly" and didn't want to spend too much time with it.

The (for me and Jorge) luxury version to have your patch would be to have your svn 'expert' checkout the latest version, apply my patch, then add your changes and provide the result again as patch. It should be ok to ignore conflicts should they occur, as it's "just" a translation and will most likely be caught in the next round.

My patch hasn't been submitted to svn yet, it's been ready to do so for a while.

If you can't do what I suggested: I'll get my glasses (hopefully) on Saturday and hope to be able to wear them for some time. But as I intended to merge Tobias' changes and didn't get to it, I wouldn't want to promise it in the current situation.

Cheers,
Olaf

The glasses are back, but a broken nose is not the ideal place to put them... I've started to merge but lost the intermediate result either due to eclipse-problems with comparing these huge files or with my own stupidity choosing the wrong option once or choosing the wrong way.
Somewhat frustrated I've not started over but added this feature suggestion to the forum. It'd be sooo nice if there was an easier collaborative way of editing these resources...

Cheers,
Olaf

Hi Jorge,
thanks, I'm done - see LPS-2363, which now contains Tobias' changes from LPS-2343 as well as Irina's changes that were added to LPS-2363 and a few more changes that I stumbled upon when merging.
Cheers,
