User table with service builder

Hi all,

is possible create a custom user table different from the default user table of Liferay using service builder and assign this user to a default organization? If Yes How can I do this?

Why do you need a separate user table? Why try to muck w/ the core of Liferay, where so much of the system is dependent upon it?

There are expandos that you can use to add your own attributes w/o replacing the table. Alternatively you can add your own table using the user id as the primary key.

As far as defining to a default organization, you can use a model listener and, after the user is created, add the org assignment...

same question ... We have an app with it's own authentication tables.

When the user connect to the portal, the check has to be done on the legacy database and not on the portal itself.

Found one solution plugin an ldap bridge bettwen the two, but exploring the service builder could be another solution ?

No, simply. If the legacy database is needed only for authentication, you don't need to import the user data to liferay.
