Dear friends ,

* I have created multiple Portal instances.

Instance ID Web ID Virtual Host Mail Domain # of Users Max # of Users Active
10154 liferay.com localhost liferay.com 1 Unlimited Yes
10640 rvk rvk123.in rvk123.in 1 Unlimited Yes
10914 littleelly littleelly.in littleelly.in 1 Unlimited Yes
11184 Surya surya123.in surya123.in 1 Unlimited Yes
11452 Luminos luminos.in luminos.in 1 Unlimited Yes

* Added virtual host names in /etc/hosts as below

127.0.0.1 surya123.in
127.0.0.1 luminos.in
127.0.0.1 rvk123.in
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.1 littleelly.in

This is working perfectly fine in my local machine when I enter
surya123.in:8080 , luminos.in:8080.

What I need is , how to create a virtual host names in real world scenario, so that I can deploy it on my linux server which can be access from out side.

Thanks,
Sreejesh

Dear,
Finally I did that in real time.
I created sub domain using in.godaddy.com/
For example I have a domain named mycompany.com
I created sub domains like
surya.mycompany.com
luminos.mycompany.com
etc

The above subdomain should point to an IP address where the liferay application runs.

while creating multiple portal instances, in the Virtual Host text box I added the subdomain name and it worked perfectly.

Thanks,
Sreejesh
