am reviewing tooling for consuming remote RESTful services via portlets and services via servicebuilder

am looking at Restlet framework currently and just bought Restlet in Action book

i've heard recently that some are doing RESTful even locally - from portlet to liferay service-builder generated layer using service builder (tho not sure if Restlet is involved for this )

any experience/advice wrt RESTful tooling in liferay from consumer side ?

We're using Spring's RestTemplate for doing remote REST calls w/ passing JSON objects. It's been working out really well, although we did have to jump through some hoops to get SSL and BasicAuth working...

For a project that is accessing our SB service layer, we're still using SOAP.
