Hi,
We are running Liferay 6.1 portal with MySQL database. Till now, both the application and database servers are reisding in the same IP address. Now, we are planning to have a separate application server and DB server for our portal due to performance issues. Apart from jdbc.default.url changes pointing to the database server in portal-setup-wizard-properties file, kindly let me know if any other changes have to made in the portal settings and configuration files for having a separate application and DB server. Thanks in advance.

I guess not. That should work fine once you change the JDBC url to point the new ip address.

Hi Srvna,

You need not have to do any other settings except the JDBC URL in portal-setup-wizard.properties file.

But on the MySQL side you have to give the IP address of your LR server so that MySQL can accept connections from this IP address. Otherwise it will not work.

You can refer to my documentation here to know how exactly to do this between your LR and MYSQL servers.
