I have been contacted by Liferay (Michael Young) to become a moderator on this forum and accepted it with pleasure.

There are a couple of things I want to do as a moderator:

1. Create FAQ with the questions that are being asked most often and with links to look first before asking questions.
2. I might move a thread to a new location if needed.
3. Listen to community suggestion and try to implement it.

Please tell me if you want me to do something else.

Thanks for accepting our request, Roman. This should be a good start to help people find answers.

Hello,
I'll find very useful if you use your forces and rename resolved threads as "[resolved]..." ;)

May the Force be with you. emoticon

few points from me

1. en(force) a checklist before starting a new thread (well is that a feature request for msg boards portlet?)
2. request members to attach lengthy logs files/code and not embed in the post
3. explain what a community is and how it works? first timers expect other members and specifically liferay developers(well i am not one emoticon but anyways) to reply ASAP

Hello Madhu.
1) I think that this is realy feature request. So you can add this issue to Jira.
2) Hmmm. This is good idea but I can tell you that sometime it is easier to put it just in the [ code ]... emoticon I think it is about the length of file and about discreation and about laziness. emoticon
3) This should be written somewhere. I agree. My feeling is that there should be some assigned people from Liferay Inc. or Sun emoticon responsible for Forums. So the developers should rotate somehow in there. Not just volunteers. I think this is really important to get growing community. Nice example is Canonical Ltd. with ubuntuforums. If we will have more "answering people" in Liferay forums we will get more community members and some percent of them will be naturally answering too. I hope that in growing community are hidden possible customers for Liferay EE. If you wish I can tell you more... Note it's just my feeling.
