Good morning,

As far as I know, the Liferay document library is relying on the JSR170 reference implementation: Jackrabbit.
It is a very good thing. However, I would be very happy to know a bit more about this module. I might ask noob questions, sorry for that, as well if I have questions answered somewhere else (no success in my searches).

Where are stored the documents?
- File system or DB ?
- If FS: what is the security policy? Can the document library configured on a network drive? Does it support UNC notation on Windows environments?

- For what usage the doc lib has been designed in order to ensure stability and performance? Volume of documents, max size of a document, ...

- Are there big/severe known issues regarding document library and its integration with other components (like journal) ? (I can take time to perform a search in Jira...)

- What are the improvments scheduled for version 5 of Liferay?
