i have been trying to authenticate users through LDAP.
I have successfully established the LDAP connection (Active Directory).
But when i try to login, it doesnt login. I think the users were not imported to the Liferay database from active directory. Because of this iam not able to use the directory search also.
Please provide me the solution regarding:

Establishing the LDAP connection(Active Directory)
Importing the LDAP users from Active Directory to Liferay database.
Using of the Directory Search in Liferay.

Hi Ravi,

Try checking in user_ table whether users are imported or not and let us know, then we can check with directory search.

Hi Ravi,

Multiple LDAP Server get detected using ldap.server.ids property in portlet-ext.properties.

First you remove the entry from portlet prefrences table which you have used during single ldap server configuration , otherwise changes will not get reflected and it will always take wrong entry.

Then add the following code in the portlet-ext. properties.

Change the server details according to your ldap server.

 1## Common LDAP Properties
 2ldap.auth.enabled=true
 3ldap.export.enabled=false
 4ldap.server.ids=1,2
 5
 6## LDAP Server 1 Settings
 7ldap.server.name.1=Main
 8ldap.base.provider.url.1=ldap://localhost:10389
 9ldap.base.dn.1=dc=example,dc=com
10ldap.security.principal.1=uid=admin,ou=system
11ldap.security.credentials.1=test
12ldap.auth.search.filter.1=(mail=@email_address@)
13ldap.user.default.object.classes.1=top,person,inetOrgPerson,organizationalPerson
14ldap.user.mappings.1=screenName=cn\npassword=userPassword\nemailAddress=mail\nfirstName=givenName
15\nlastName=sn\njobTitle=title\ngroup=groupMembership
16ldap.group.mappings.1=groupName=cn\ndescription=description\nuser=uniqueMember
17ldap.import.user.search.filter.1=(objectClass=inetOrgPerson)
18ldap.import.group.search.filter.1=(objectClass=groupOfUniqueNames)
19ldap.users.dn.1=ou=users,dc=example,dc=com
20ldap.groups.dn.1=ou=groups,dc=example,dc=com
21## LDAP Server 2 Settings
22ldap.server.name.2=Other
23ldap.base.provider.url.2=ldap://localhost:10390
24ldap.base.dn.2=dc=example1,dc=com
25ldap.security.principal.2=uid=admin,ou=system
26ldap.security.credentials.2=test
27ldap.auth.search.filter.2=(mail=@email_address@)
28ldap.user.default.object.classes.2=top,person,inetOrgPerson,organizationalPerson
29ldap.user.mappings.2=screenName=cn\npassword=userPassword\nemailAddress=mail\nfirstName=givenName
30\nlastName=sn\njobTitle=title\ngroup=groupMembership
31ldap.group.mappings.2=groupName=cn\ndescription=description\nuser=uniqueMember
32ldap.import.user.search.filter.2=(objectClass=inetOrgPerson)
33ldap.import.group.search.filter.2=(objectClass=groupOfUniqueNames)
34ldap.users.dn.2=ou=users,dc=example,dc=com
35ldap.groups.dn.2=ou=groups,dc=example,dc=com

Hope this helps...
