Hi,

In Liferay 5 I could select a portal page as a link. But in Liferay 6 I can only select documents or images.
How can I get that functionnality back ?

Thank you,

LinkToPage is an option available in structure creation. You can point to any page within the org or comm.

Thank you for replying.

Why is this in structure ? I find it kind of strange since it forces the user to switch from content edit to structure to add link to a page (which is not the case for document nor image).

Is there a way to switch back to the old behavior ?

Regards,
Greg

I believe you can still achieve the links to pages and documents using Rich text editor.
I have no idea using CMS related things prior to 6.0.

Did you ever find a real answer to this? I'm not finding any way to add a link to another page from within a Web Content section. I simply want a link from within some static web content to another page in the same community. Seems like this should be simple but the link tool in web content editor, as stated above does not offer this option.

I am desperately looking for a solution to this problem as well.

I can't understand this at all. Not being able to link to pages in the rich content editor is a complete deal breaker as far as the site management goes.

Actually, I would expected there to be a built in link checker as well. This seems like a really basic web cms feature to me.

I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure this out for a couple of weeks.

Hi,

this is indeed a blocker feature. Not certain why a content management system does not allow clearly to link to internal pages.

Hi,

Well, almost a year later since the first post, and I found this post searching for the same thing...

If I want users to create content, that includes creating links to that content... I feel like I must be missing something obvious, because I can't find an easy way to create links to existing content (from within the html gui editor).

Is there not one? I have had a quick look in 6.1 beta and it seems the same?

If anyone is still reading posts on this old thread, and you are in the know, it would be great if you could let me (and others on this thread) know if we are missing something or is this the way it is, even for 6.1 (and I can stop looking).

Thanks for any info.

OK, found something in 6.1 beta which I thought was an improvement.

When editing a link in a Web Content Portlet, you can 'Browse Server' and select Resource Type 'Page' and this will give you a slightly crude but functional page selection option. :-)

Went back to have a look at 6.0, and lo and behold... it was there too! (From my last post... obviously I was missing something...)

Not as beautiful as some of the other UI aspects to Liferay, but better than what I had found before, so I will gladly use it :-)

Just thought I would updated this thread in case anyone else finds it useful.
