Hi,

Can some one help me with weather portlet. I am trying to add a three day weather forecast to the existing weather portlet. Any help please. is there any way to do that.

I was able to do tis by changing the core java classes.

Hi, i m trying to get the source code to do the same and other customisation, but i can't find them.

i just succed to find the war file (weather-portlet-6.0.5.1.war)
Can someone help me with this please ?

Bryce,

deploy the weather portlet and then check the tomcat webapps, the folder with source code will be there. Then create a portlet in plugins sdk folder and tyou can do your enhancements.

Are you still just displaying weather.com site on a different web page?
I thought it would be much better to just be able to set a location from a setting
and display a weather report within the portlet.

Hi Hitoshi,

There is 2 parts in the default weather portlet.
1 : google weather api, which send xml to display icons et temperatures.
2 : a form to open a new window on weather.com

So if the portlet's preferences are well inquired no need to go on weather.com.

Did I need a Google license to use it? I may be getting mixed up with the stock portlet.

Perhaps you should be reading more about Liferay before trying to develop for it... This is a very simple question covered by all of the documentation...
