We have not added support for jboss runtime/server yet in Liferay IDE. It is on the roadmap and will likely be late summer/early fall.

Hi guys,

I’m struggling on the same topic. I m trying to set up an Eclipse plug-in SDK project. I m using a JBOSS as target server, but the plug-in SDK is linked only to Tomcat. There is no JBOSS runtime found, is it still not supported, is there any trunk version or work around to use?

Many thanks for your help

This is no JBoss server adapter so that you can launch local jboss runtimes. However, in 6.1 there is going to be new remote server deployment support so that a Liferay 6.1 server running on JBoss can be deployed to from Liferay IDE with no problems.

Hi Gregory,
There must be some work around to this issue as many of us are using Jboss - including me.
Ok, until 6.1 is out (when will it be out??) can I use Tomcat runtime and export the war/portlets and deploy them back in my Jboss 5.1?

regards,
Megha

Yes actually that should work OK to just use Tomcat for testing and then deploy to Jboss once they are ready for further integration.

With 6.1.0RC1 of Liferay Portal you can use jboss as a remote server for development with Liferay IDE. In the future we do have plans to add local adapter support for Jboss, you can watch our progress here: http://issues.liferay.com/browse/IDE-519

Hi Gregory,

I had recently tried a workaround to use JBoss on Liferay IDE plugin. And it's working fine.
It will be great if you or anyone from your team can provide your comments on the same, so others can also use that workaround.
I have posted it here: https://www.liferay.com/community/forums/-/message_boards/message/17864836

kind regards,
