Hi Every body,
I am pointing to Integrate Alfresco as the EDM: Electronic Data Management. But while I am discovering Lifeary Prtal, I found that it already contains a Document Library portlets. Thus, I want to know if this portlet is doing the same job as the EDM Alfresco or I shoud get rid of it and use Alfresco.

Please Help me, I'm in a serious problem,

Thank you in advance

Hello,

I will suggest to list all the requirements first and then go thru Liferay Buyers Guide or connect to Liferay sales team.

Requirements in terms of file conversion, search etc. You will get most of the answers in buyers guide only.

There are still points missing from the buyers guide.
Alfresco has an advanced functionalities to manage and search documents compared to Liferay. That said, there's more to Liferay. There are portlets like the new knowledge management system allows wikis and documents to be linked. I think it's these portlets which gives real advantages to users that makes Liferay standout.

The decision whether you'll need Alfresco with Liferay depends on what you really want to do. It's more of a cost vs functionality issue. Having 2 applications running cost more in operation and maintenance. If you're going to buy support, it'll cost you about twice as much.
