Nope. My last knowledge about this is that there isn't any official release date yet, but perhaps some beta version in a month. Anyway in few weeks there will be more news about this, because staff is working on fixing or adding improvements to new version.

One thing for sure: 6.1 will be awesome!

Yeah there will be some activity on 6.1 in the next couple of weeks in the Community (Bug Squad and other initiatives). We don't have a firm release date yet because there are always unknowns that occur before a release. But we should be moving to code freeze (important bugfixes only after that) in a couple of weeks.

as always, the new version should be available a few month after the estimated date.
and I prefer that than having a buggy version (like 6.0.6)

Steve, as part of BugSquad you should be getting a 6.1 pre-release used for BugSquad testing, most likely this will be shipped next week, so keep watching your email!

You can always download and compile it yourself, as well, without waiting for anyone else..

A "nightly build" is not a stable version at all. Only use it to preview the new functionnality of version 6.1.

How can I produce a working liferay-portal-6.1.0.war.

I've tryied with following with bad results:

ant clean start deploy
mkdir dist
ant -buildfile build-dist.xml zip-portal-war
