I am evaluating portal solutions, My first choice was liferay with glassfish. I have found this to be difficult probably due to my inexperience with solaris. Once I finally did achieve a successful install with liferay-portal-glassfish-sunos_x86-5.0.1.jar, liferay while looking good was very slow. As I am evaluating this did not bother me greatly though I could not even add a portlet without it just lagging for what seemed like forever.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Im not concerned by the performance more by it not working?

I have installed jboss and it is really neat and was a dream to install, though I would prefer to keep glassfish as my appserver.

If anyone could direct me to some simple install instructions that work with the latest glassfish and liferay versions that would be appreciated. basically I want to install glassfish(this was simple) install liferay to that glassfish instance(unsure) and then add a custom portlet to liferay. I am not a fan of the bundled version I used above.
