You'll need to extend WordpressUtil.java to match your requirements. Where are those pictures? Are they part of the blog entries? Basically, you'll need to parse its appeareance and then call the corresponding Liferay service where you want to add them. Will this be part of a web content or a blog entry?

Don't hesitate in asking me, and if you manage to implement it, please contribute it and I'll release a new version

Hum... I see... that is weird...

Maybe this is not the right approach for your specific use case. It seems that your process is that when you are writing a content and then selecting a word (or sentence) with your mouse, and when you want to convert it to link using WYSIWYG CKEditor - then there should be an option to select the right content or page.

This approach would be quite different, as it would require to extend the CKEditor URL browser (see screenshot)

Hi Atif:
I don't want users to work copying and pasting URLs from one place to another: it is a really bad practise for any product, so I wouldn't like it to see on Liferay. But you have a point in you point 1), I like it. Actually, when linking the asset it would be really nice to be able to:

1) Give the relationship a name
2) Provide for a text input with the text of the link (this would be optional, in case you want to show just the URL visible)

In your case, you'll create a structure with a field whose name would be "Magazine Name" of type "Related asset". When creating the content, you'll click on "Select related asset" which will open the related assets browser, then you'll look for a web content and will give it a name (for example: "My cool tech magazine") and then in the template you'll do something like $magazine_name.getData() and it'll generate the correct HTML for it.

Will that be enough for you or am I missing something?

I see this is very interesting. Recently we've been told that it would be useful to have related assets as fields of the structures, that way, from the template you could get the link and display it as part of the article. What do you think about having a new field type in the structure called "Related asset" that allows you to add a link to an asset and then print the link easily in the template? Do you think it will cover your use case?

currently you can not do that (request a change in the roles of a user).

What I would do is to add a workflow form to a page, with a simple form where the user request which role he wants, then the reviewer receives a notification, he updates the user in the users management portlet and then he approves the task.

I'm sorry, but I guess that's the easiest way to do this. If any community member has a better solution, please share it!

apparently this topic has been something the community has been talking about previously (see this discussion here)...It's sad, but it's quite common in our community that people discuss about a topic, say they'll contribute something and finally disappear! I hope this conversation leads to some real contributions and product improvements!

I have contacted the guys that created this integration with Ontopia to see if they plan to update their plugins to the latest version, but the full project seems abandoned. This would be interesting for the community, and the integration seems easy... but someone must update the plugins! I'll update the post if they answer me.

Apart from this I'm pretty sure there are things we can do in the core to improve this but I'll wait for you to present your paper to get the feedback of your experience giving Liferay a "semantic air"

this is a really interesting topic and I know more community members will love to start a discussion about semantics in Liferay.

What I'd love you to do is to define what is the problem we are trying to solve using semantics in webs built on Liferay and what are the main benefits of implementing this.

After we define those two high level "ideas" we can start thinking in ways to face the problem and step by step break them down into doable tasks and deliverables (plugins for the marketplace? new services in the core? new community product built over Liferay?)

en la versión actual (6.1) aún no es posible realizar lo que necesitas, por lo que si realmente lo quieres, deberás implementarlo como una extensión al producto.
Como buena noticia, indicarte que estamos estudiando la inclusión de esta funcionalidad en la próxima release (6.2).
Actualizaré este hilo en cuanto tenga algo más de información al respecto

In general - it looks like Shopping API was written long-long time ago and never updated after it to support newer liferay functionality. This extensions I hope will be part of Liferay core (since they are related to core objects) and here we will be happy to contribute it into liferay.

That would be a nice contribution to the core, and many community members will love to have this plugin updated. Remember when you start contributing to split the features in the smallest chunks possible so that it is more likely to get to the core.

Primer #LSUG Project - Segunda fase: beta testing

¡Hola LSUGers!
Bueno, bueno, bueno, ¡vaya experiencia la del Sábado!¡Nunca ha visto una cosa semejante en la comunidad de Liferay!
Tanta gente colaborando, geográficamente distribuida, implementando un proyecto juntos, ayudándose unos a otros... ¡genial!¡disfruté como un enano!

Es hora de recapitular un poco después de la locura hiperactiva del Sábado ¿Qué cosas se hicieron el sábado?

Se hicieron 12 forks del proyecto, hicimos 50 commits, escribimos entre todos 17.314 líneas de código (), enviamos 25 pull requests, cerramos 20 de las 25 tareas que teníamos en la lista (¡80%!), creamos el servicio de cuotas, creamos los tres portlets (vacíos) donde meteremos nuestras interfaces y llamadas a los servicios, creamos la integración con la biblioteca de documentos para interceptar todas las llamdas, creamos la clase de utilidad que nos servirá para hacer las comprobaciones de cuotas excedidas y envíos de alertas, tradujimos todas las cadenas a ¡5! idiomas (castellano, inglés, catalán, euskera y gallego), diseñamos los iconos de los portlets y avanzamos con los mockups, se implementaron las primeras versiones de los portlets de instancias y sites ...y seguro que me dejo algo en el tintero... ¡Alucinante!

¿Y qué toca ahora? Bueno al fin hoy, ya está en master TODO el código que se desarrolló el Sábado.

En base a lo que hay en el repositorio, "teóricamente" deberíamos poder ser capaces de dar de alta cuotas por instancias y sites, verificar que se hacen las comprobaciones al subir a la doclib y ver un mensaje de erroral pasarse de la cuota.

Y digo teóricamente porque estoy 100% seguro de que hay fallos. Ahora es donde entran en juego los beta testers (Alfa testers?)

Me gustaría que todos los que se ofrecieron como voluntarios para ser beta testers se descargaran el plugin, le dieran una vuelta y que abrieran tickets para todas las incidencias que encuentren (que imagino no serán pocas). NOTA IMPORTANTE - SE ACEPTAN PULL REQUESTS: si alguno, además de encontrar errores, los arregla... ¡mejor que mejor!

¡Jaja! ¡Asier, claro que está vacío! ¡Si aún no hemos quedado!
El día 26 de Enero es el día D para el proyecto. La gracia del proyecto no es que cada uno vaya a su rollo, si no que planeemos entre todos las funcionalidades, las diseñemos y en una sentada de un día hagamos un producto. El refinamiento, empaquetado, resolución de bugs, etc vendrá luego, pero la idea es hacer un codeathon de un día todos juntos (física o virtualmente)

¡¡¡Hay mil cosas que podrías aportar, Asier!!! Gracias al desfase horario, cuando te levantes ese día ya tendremos cositas desarrolladas y podrás probarlas para reportar errores, dar ideas y, si te animas, commitear alguna cosita que veas interesante.

Además, ya que estás por las américas, podemos poner a prueba tu inglés y que escribas una pequeña descripción del proyecto y del plugin para que sea la documentación oficial cuando lo subamos al marketplace!

Bueno, pues parece que la fecha está clara: ¡26 de Enero!
Ahora a decidir el horario antes de seguir con la organización.
Si queremos tener un "producto" usable al final del día, debemos invertir mínimo 8 horas, pero hay que tener en cuenta a los que viajen de fuera en avión, así que tampoco se puede empezar demasiado temprano.
Yo propongo que estemos conectados para empezar el desarrollo a las 10 y hacer 8 horas con una hora para comer. Eso sería de 10:00 a 19:00 aprox. Habrá gente que se vaya antes, o que se quede un rato más, pero el horario que se escoja debe ser respetado por la mayor parte posible de gente para tener empuje en el desarrollo.
Decid si os parece, ¿ok?
