InvokeFilter is located at ROOT/WEB-INF/web.xml, but you should not take it off. Since that is the this filter which makes possible to hook your own filters and it is actually using liferay-web.xml to read real these filters.

More accurately what is your Liferay version, I mean minor version? Liferay CE 6.1.1 or are you working with EE?

Which version you are running?

The issue LPS-25973 has been closed as duplicate and it should been fixed with LPS-24723.

From Git I can see two commits for LPS-24723

220cc519c0e024e02b6dd3d8476723c1913d43f3 and following source format for previous 51f41eaea44bec2ee86676fbb949571e29a0ee10

At your code basicInformations does not any have values inside. That's why you are getting that kind of error. It is empty array. Try to debug from there.

Instead of ext-plugin, I would suggest to create a hook plugin. Take a look our Hooks documentation.

We could make git repository for these or just upload them to sourceforge as rest of the Liferay files.

There is clearly need for for this for these kind of feature, but as I know of there is still no jira issue of it. We could continue this thread and make a little specification and put it then through Liferay's product managment and hope that it then would turn up to product.

I have actually made a little proof of consept of the site part of this feature and I call it SiteURL. SiteUrl is to manage url + locale (+ redirect etc.) to site. This you can find out from git hub. https://github.com/sammso/liferay-portal/tree/6.1.1-ga2-siteurl. This is still missign page friendly url, but I think it is doable. Disclaimer: It is partially working and it is not done yet, but you can take a look. If you are running it you have to fill siteurl table from LR database. I'm currently Liferay employee so I have to mention that this feature is my personal experiment there is no guarantee that it will ever come part of the product..

By quickly testing it is working. I did push the it also to my github fork.

I suggest that fixing base of would be 6.1.1-ga2-patched branch and would be used for the build packages. That could be also set as default branch for Liferay-Patchers-Community.

I agree, most of the people are doing this on their own time (when rest of the world is watching TV) .. so the schedule would help.

Also time for testing should be long enough, so there would easier to find time slot to do this.

Idea : When bug squad member produces the bug report. This report should be clear enough to be converted to use case, so it could be tested against on future Liferay builds, by Liferay testing team.

I did try this out again.

What I made it to work at windows: (I have ant etc. installed)

create directory to work on named 611patched

unzip liferay-portal-tomcat-6.1.1-ce-ga2-20120731132656558.zip that 611patched directory.

change the name of liferay-portal-6.1.1-ce-ga2 to bundles

unzip liferay-portal-src-6.1.1-ce-ga2-20120731132656558.zip to 611patched directory and you see new directory liferay-portal-src-6.1.1-ce-ga2

copy patch.7z to liferay-portal-src-6.1.1-ce-ga2 directory

goto command line to that liferay-portal-src-6.1.1-ce-ga2 directory and run command ant all

I made exactly like this and after that I had patched liferay at liferay-portal-6.1.1-ce-ga2 directory.

Anyway, I think we need to put this to git.
