Hi,

I am running Liferay 4. from a http://bitnami.org/ installation on Centos 4.5. emoticon

I have installed the system as root user.

The issue I have is that when I install a Portlet any portlet it does not show up in the Add Content window.

The portlets seems to install, as I see , I see this in the catalina.out log. As shown below...

I cannot see any documentation about adding portlets anyway apart from the add content.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Regards

Mark

Your portlet needs to also show 'registered succesfully' after the 'copied succesfully'.... You may have issues that could be explained in the urls offered in the previous post...

Hi,
I'm new to Liferay Portals; right now evaluating the product. I'm working in version 4.4.2 or liferay. I'm also facing the issue of portlet not getting listed even after a successful deployment. I checked the above links and tried adding the webapps folder path of Tomcat in portal-ext.properites. I've given the path as :
auto.deploy.dest.dir=C:/Training/Liferay/tomcat/webapps

But this doesn't seem to solve the issue. The portlet is still not displayed in the application.

Please provide some suggestions to figure out the issue.

Thanks.

Did you redeploy after you changed the portal-ext.properites?

Most of the time this is due to /opt/liferay-4.3.5/../webapps/ should not be the right place.

I tried earlier without redeploying and found that the portlet was not getting listed.

I just tried redeploying few mins back and found the portal-ext.properties file overwritten. The deploy destination path got erased and the file is blank.

Anyway the portlet is not getting listed in the 'Add Application' with our without redeploying.

Make sure you get the portlet(s) for liferay version 4.3.5. The portlets in the repository will have 4.3.5 in the war name. These will come with the necessary liferay configuration files to properly deploy in liferay and be displayed in the Add Content/Application (4.4.x) window.
