Unable to see 'Site Member' role

Hello,

I am using liferay 6.1.

I did the following steps as administartor (user name : Test)
1) Create one community site called as 'XYZ'.
2) Create one user 'user1'.
3) Assign a site 'XYZ' to user 'user1'.

Problem :
While assigning the role to the user 'user1' for the community site 'XYZ', I am not able to see the role called as 'Site Member'.
I am able to see only two roles: Site Administrator and Site Owner.

But I have checked that 'Site Member' role is present under Control Panel -> Portal -> Roles.

How do I assign 'Site Member' role to user 'user1'.
Am I missing anything. Kindly help on this.

I am also using 6.1

Please edit the Site Member role

there under description you can see the statement

All users who belong to a site have this role within that site.

I am hoping this role already included who belogs to particular site.

Hi ,

That is the way Liferay has implemented, they are not displaying site Role for members in list.

So it will work, but that is the improvement that Liferay can do.

But my problem is that , we have upgraded Liferay from 5.2 to 6.1.And here it shows Site Member name.

But if I add any new members, there it does not show the name.

Hi Vinith,

I have seen you both posts, I think issue is it is just not displaying role against user name and that 6.1 behaviour.

That won't create any other permission specific issue for you.

Still just verify from any 2-3 user's profile from users and organizations list. They should have this communities in 'Communities' section.
