Finding height and width of a portlet

Hi,

In the freeform layout, how do I do the following?

- get the current height and width of the portlet
- capture the resize event on the portlet to be able to do some activity based on that

that just shows how to set the width and height in css. I need to dynamically find the width and height of the portlet.
