Why uploaded documents are read only to other users?

I'm using the document library.

Every time a user uploads a new file, this file is in read only mode to all other users by default, except for the user who uploaded it.

The user has to manually change the default permissions during the upload action, by clicking in "permission" -> "more options" -> and checking the update and delete actions.

The question is: is there a way to make every file updatable by every user who has access to the folder where the file is being created by default?

Hello Felipe,
I would check general permissions for document entries for role "User" (more safe it would be to give permission only to site members of chosen site). If you go to "Control Panel" -> "Roles" -> "User" -> "Define Permissions", you should be able to find on something like "Update" and "Delete" permission for Document and Media Document.
