Liferay as OAuth Server

Hello folks,

I found the following blog post: OAuth Client Portlet Implementation.

It describes a mechanism between two Liferay portals using OAuth authentication. One Liferay is an OAuth Server and the other one is an OAuth Client.

I tried to find such a mechanism in Liferay 6.2 CE.

Can you clarify if OAuth server functionality is already build-in in Liferay 6.2? Or do you need to implement it yourself? Or is it just a feature which is available in the Enterprise Edition only?

Thanks for your help.

Regards,
Dominik

I also would like to know this. Does anybody know the answer? We would like Liferay to rely on an OAuth provider for authentication but we do not know how to start.

I'm replying to bump this back up. We are looking at implementing this, but we're not using EE. I need to know if OAuth authorization will be possible within Liferay 6.2 EE.

Looking at the blog it appears that the oath portlet was managing both the client and server side of the oath transaction.

Liferay by default can use oath for authentication services, but it does not supply the oath service itself IIRC.

Hi,

Sorry for commenting on the old thread.
Please provide an explanation if liferay can accepts the oauth token for the authentication at the same time it should also support the nortal ldaps authentication.

What it means is, if liferay receive the oauth token then it should use the oauth way of authentication and for other cases it should be dependent on noramal ldaps based one.
