Private messaging portlet very slow

We are using the private messaging portlet in our setup and found performance issues. Running 1750 users, liferay core performs within 3 seconds, but viewing all messages, a single message thread and deletion of messages took individually about 140 to 164 seconds. Is there anyway to optimise this. We are using SQL server and notice the pmthread table has the indexes created. Also have set read uncommitted data on database to on. Is there anyone who can optimise this. Contact [e-mail]
