ftp files for document library

I want to ftp some files to the liferay server and want liferay document library portlet to pick up those files. Where I should put those files on the server? and what changes I need to make in the portal-ext.propertes OR document library portlet to work in this kind of scenario?

There's currently no support for FTP in the Document Library, but you can use WebDAV to transfer files from your desktop to the Document Library.

Hi,

is there any way to add the document\image selection window that pops up when you click on add image (see below) into your portlet in order to choose a file from the server?
We are developing a portlet to sent email with attachments, the attachments have been uploaded on the server via document-managment, and we would like to attach those files in are email.
We can simply upload files while sending, but we find the choosing from liferay file-pool (image gallery and documents) a better solution.
