liferay-ui:search-iterator and liferay-ui:search-paginator

i have a list which i want to display by paging them instead of displaying all in one portlet. i searched the code and i found following two tags which is used for paging.
liferay-ui:search-iterator
liferay-ui:search-paginator

i want to know how to use my list and these tags for paging.

You will need to use a SearchContainer. A good place to start are:

/html/portlet/admin/portlets.jsp
/html/portlet/search/search.jsp
