RE: Mobile theme for all smartphone browsers(not only wap enabled ones)

My mobile theme is appearing under the mobile tab in liferay which i thought would automatically change when my website was being accessed on any smartphone but this is not so...on iphone only one expensive app called wapzilla is wap enabled but i need my mobile theme to kick in when accessed by safari or any other browser on an iphone or any other smart device but how can this be achieved?.

For that try Liferay 6.1, Mobile Device Groups. There you can easily execute some actions depending on client device.

Are you talking about the wurfl-web plugin?

Yep, althought Mobile Device Groups is built-in 6.1, but you would need wurfl-web for selecting more devices.

Does liferay provide any other option?

This sourceforge project: http://sourceforge.net/projects/liferaymultidev does not have any activity from 2011/03/08 and is a beta release.

For versions before 6.1, no, it doesn't.
