The main difference is Community Edition is free and is licensed under LGPL and is distributed "as is".
Enterprise Edition is not free but bug fixes are provided from Liferay.com and is supported by Liferay.com

Hi All,
I am using Liferay6.0.6 CE and my liferay server is running very slow and it is giving me error as " MemoryOutOfError"/" Heap space" etc.
I have increase RAM from 8Gb to 16Gb.But not getting that much performance.
Can any one tell me How many User can login at a time to Liferay CE? & what is the user Limit for CE?
What System Configuration (RAM Size,Processer, etc) required for what users?
So That I can increase my system configuration and I will get respective performance.
please help me for how to increase performance.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mahendra

There may be one more major difference. CE comes with source code + build script. EE version only comes provide source code and not build tools. This doesn't beam that you'll not be able to build porlts for the EE version.
