Issue with Role/User management after migration

TELUS and TELUS customers running TELUS software on an installation of Liferay 6.0.6 CE (recently upgraded from 6.0.5 CE) are encountering db synchronization issues with the Liferay Portal user DB. For the most part, these issues result in access problems for managing User Accounts in Liferay, however a number of symptoms experienced evolve over a certain period time. In most of our experiences, prior to resolution TELUS customers have experienced evolution of symptoms over a 3-days period.

Day 1: TELUS and TELUS customers began the process of adding a new role (Sample role 1) to a sub-set of user accounts and noticed that some user accounts failed to take the new role automatically. E.g. Saved modifications were not kept in the DB. Soon after a new symptom was observed where user accounts were no longer visible or searchable from the "Users" screen in Liferay's Control Panel.

Systems Administrator restarted the Liferay server, and by going to the Roles screen in Control Panel, was again able to 'Assign Members' and 'Update Associations'. This restored TELUS and TELUS customer`s ability to view and manage Liferay user accounts.

Day 2: System Administrator noticed that Liferay user accounts were was missing required Roles. The user account was then modified successfully without requiring restart.

Day 3: The user that had been modified on Day 2 could no longer log into Liferay - the error message indicated the user account could not be found. Although other users continued to be able to log in normally their user account information was no longer visible in Liferay (the same behavior as witnessed on day 1). System Administrator performed yet another restart of the Liferay portal. This restored normal behavior again.
