Portlet visibility

Hi,
I've been looking a way to configure a portlet to show it or not depending on the role. I don't want to show anything of that portlet like is not even there and so far what I achieved is a the portlet displaying a message saying that the user doesn't have permissions use the portlet.

How can I make that portlet disappear based on usergroups and roles?

Just add the following to portal(-ext).properties:

layout.show.portlet.access.denied=false
