Unable to login to JIRA

I have changed my email id in Liferay's portal account. The same has not been updated in the linked jira account. As a result, I am unable to login to jira. Since jira has the old email id which I do not have access to now, I am unable to retrieve the password. Please help. I have searched the Lieray site to post this issue but could not find any place to that. Hence posting here.

you'll have to create a new account. the liferay and jira accounts are not linked.

Thanks for your reply, David. If the 2 accounts are not linked, then how will Liferay show my issues in the User's Profile page? And if I create a new account, how will this account be updated in my Profile pag?
