New Vaadin 7 Project wizard not working after installing Liferay IDE 2

I'm not sure if this is a Vaadin 7.1.7+ eclipse plugin bug or a Liferay IDE 2+ bug... When I install the current milestone release of Liferay IDE in eclipse Juno, I can no longer create new Vaadin 7 Projects in eclipse. The Vaadin 7 new project wizard hangs after clicking finish due to project facets.

Anyone else experience this? I don't have the issue if I use Liferay IDE 1.6 but I'm trying to develop for liferay 6.2 using vaadin 7.1.7+.

Hey David,

Can you go to the IDE project on JIRA and create a new ticket with the exact steps to reproduce this issue? We can try to take a look and see if we can reproduce.

I'll create a ticket for it. With more detailed info, but here's what I did:

Machine: Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1

1). Install Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers Version: Juno Service Release 2 Build id: 20130225-0426 - Java JDK 1.7.21
2). Install Liferay IDE from the 2.0 Milestone url (Eclipse: Help->Install New Software)
3). Git pull for latest liferay portal and plugins
4). Compile liferay portal-master
5). build tomcat dist from liferay portal-master build-dist.xml (tomcat 7.0.42)
6). build liferay portal build.xml all
7). Install Vaadin 7.1.7 http://vaadin.com/eclipse plugin using (Eclipse: Help->Install New Software)
8). File->New->Other->Vaadin 7 Project
a). Project Name: dmo-test-vaadin-portlet
b). Location: plugins\portlets\dmo-test-vaadin-portlet
c). Target Runtime: Liferay v6.2+ Tomcat
d). Configuration: Vaadin 7, Java 6, Servlet 2.4
e). Deployment Configuration Servlet (default)
f). Vaadin version: 7.1.7
g). Next, Next, Next
h). Portlet Version: Portlet 2.0
i). Theme name: liferay
j). Click Finish and the wizard doesn't close. Click finish again and get Facet error.

Delete the eclipse directory... Start the process over and use Liferay IDE 1.6 instead of 2.0 and the steps work fine.

I'm able to get around it now using the Liferay 1.6 IDE and the Vaadin 7 project wizard by modifying my liferay-portlet.xml and changing the !DOCTYPE to :"<!DOCTYPE liferay-portlet-app PUBLIC "-//Liferay//DTD Portlet Application 6.2.0//EN" "http://www.liferay.com/dtd/liferay-portlet-app_6_2_0.dtd">"

Can you be sure and post any errors you see in the error log of Eclipse to that ticket as well?
