we are currently migrating from 5.2 to 6.2 (well, it's not really a "migration" of course, we just create our website from scratch using 6.2).
We chose 6.2 over 6.1 mainly because of the better SEO support and the better support for mobile devices.
But a vanilla 6.1 installation on my computer is
way faster than a vanilla 6.2 installation.
- Startup takes roughly one minute in 6.1 but 3 minutes in 6.2
- Displaying the control panel takes about 1 second in 6.1, but 30 seconds in 6.2.
- initial display of the home page takes about 1 second on 61. but roughly 20 seconds on 6.2
6.2 gets better after a while, but it still feels way more sluggish than 6.1
While the startup time isn't really an issue in production it is a major problem during development.
Is there anything that can be tuned?
