liferay sync will not connect to server

getting failed to deserialize user sites error when I use the URL "http://localhost:8080/web/guest/site-login"
get invalid login when I use the URL "http://localhost:8080"

also when I launch liferay sync to enter the server URL and username and it fails to connect.
I then close the popup.
liferay sync will not launch anymore until I reinstall it.

windows 7 32 bit
tomcat
6.2 community
MySQL

tried liferay sync on both win 7 32 and win 8 64

must use the email address for the login name, not screen name

Hi Michael,

The configuration will only launch the first time. After you've configured an account, you will need to go to the icon in the task bar and click Preferences/Properties to change the account.

you can try to desinstall and reinstall again.

you need to pass the correct credentials to connect to the server such as email, username etc.
