how So login work?

Please is important for an environment on production..

I would like to disable check authentication for blog portlet, so guest could access to my blog (for example /web/mycommunity/blog).

I need to understand where and how in each portlet (jsp?) is checked if I am authenticated by login or not.

In alternative how can I expose contents of "Content for guest" inserted by control Panel for example in blog?

I found properties: basic.auth.password.required and auth.public.paths
but adding my path it seems to not work..

anyone have ever used theese properties ?
