using the calendar portlet in 6.2 GA2

I added the calendar portlet to a page.
it defaults to Current Site Calendars - Liferay

the page is viewable as admin and by guests(not logged in)
when I click ADD EVENT as admin I get a blank page popup
when I click PERMISSIONS as admin I get a blank page popup
when I click CALENDAR SETTINGS as admin I get a blank page popup

I can add an event by clicking on the day and time of the even line.
this adds the event as the admin
when I refresh the page as guest I see the entry but not the title of the event.
the box appears on that day and time and I see the from / to time of the entry but the title (IE Company Lunch)
when I use AGENDA MODE as the guest I see the entry but no title of the event.

any ideas.?

ok, I think this above part is a skin problem..

the 2nd part is still applicable.
I add an entry as admin and say the entry is viewable by guests.
the non logged in user can see the calendar and the entry, just not the title of the event.

any ideas

added a new calendar and made sure the permissions were set to GUEST

calendar and added entries now appear for admin ,/logged in user and guest
