Web Content: Your type must allow children pages.

Hi all,

I'm trying to add some web content to a page which has some children. I'm getting this error message: "Your type must allow children pages."

What is to do to add web content to such a page?

You can have different types of pages (Portlet, Panel, Embedded, Web Content, URL, Link to Page). Embedded, Web Content, and URL types pages cannot have children pages under them. If you want to have children pages, use a Portlet, Panel, or Link to Page type page.

May I ask why this is so? I mean, isn't it a kind of a weak point in the CMS functionality of Liferay?

Hmmm...I'm not sure why that limitation is there. Feel free to create an improvement ticket at issues.liferay.com.

As a workaround, instead of using a "Web Content" type page,
* use a "Portlet" type page.
* Change the page layout to a one column layout
* Add a "Web Content Display" portlet and configure the portlet to display your web content.
