Zsolt Balogh

Zsolt Balogh leads the Hungarian support team in their common drive to constantly perfect their quality of service, their Portal and their relationship with Liferay's European customers. The best leadership tools in his arsenal are based on personal example - he has a passion to deliver solutions for tough challenges and dillemmas, as well as a genuine interest in life and all its learning opportunities.

Before joining the company, Zsolt has caught the attention of Liferay's senior software engineers by heavily submitting code and posting on community message boards. Today, he continues to innovate on a daily basis, within the framework of Liferay's Enterprise Support.

Andreas Firnau

Andreas Firnau is Senior Consultant and Product Manager at USU AG and has been with the company since 2008. Andreas was project manager at Stuttgarter Versicherung and has worked with many of USU's Liferay clients. His work includes enterprise portal strategy, Liferay consulting, business process analysis and project management. Andreas also has experience around the overall design, development, and implementation of internet, intranet, and extranet solutions.  Having worked with every major release of Liferay since v4.3, he comes with a deep knowledge of the Liferay Portal product. Andreas joined USU with over 5 years of software development experience in the telecom industry. Andreas holds a degree as Diplom-Ingenieur (FH) from the Hochschule Esslingen, University of Applied Sciences.

Nate Cavanaugh

Nate Cavanaugh is the Director of User Interface Engineering for Liferay, in which he helps guide not only the interface for end user products, but also the interface for different development methodologies. Nate currently heads up Liferay's latest UI project, AlloyUI. He has a passion to help users at different levels to be more productive and get work done. He loves to create, whether it be beautiful interfaces, a piece of art, or just a small essay. He tends to be hyperbolic, and loves a good debate.

Neil Griffin

Neil Griffin is a Software Architect for Liferay and is the project lead for Liferay Faces. Neil has 20 years of experience in software engineering and represents the company on the JSR 344 (JSF 2.2) Expert Group. He is also a contributing author to the JSF 2.0 Complete Reference, published by McGraw-Hill.

Michael Han

Michael brings his background in capital markets and more than 12 years of technology management and architecture experience to Liferay. As Liferay's VP of Operations, US and Asia, Michael oversees Liferay's operations in Asia (both in China and Southeast Asia) as well as Liferay's support and training operations in the US. Michael also manages strategic client relationships in the high-tech and financial industries. Finally, Michael leverages his expertise in large-scale distributed systems to guide the benchmarking and performance management of Liferay's product lines. Prior to Liferay, Michael served as Chief Architect for Bank of America Global Foreign Exchange and as Managing Director for a proprietary trading firm. During his career, Mr. Han has specialized in leveraging Agile practices to deliver high-performance financial systems in distributed, multi-shore development models. Michael holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, US.

Olaf Kock

After being an active part of the Liferay community for two and a half years, Olaf Kock has joined Liferay GmbH as a Technical Consultant and Trainer. After several years of software development experience in various, mostly server-side projects, Olaf now supports client teams in the architecture, implementation and development of solutions using Liferay Portal.

Iliyan Peychev

Iliyan started as C developer eleven years ago, when he was writing software for banks and other financial institutions. Then he became Java developer working in the area of SmartCards and Security.
Today he is fully devoted to JavaScript and Front-End development. He spends most of his time writing code for Liferay Portal and AlloyUI. He is also highly interested in Server-side JavaScript, real time data processing and remotely controlling and monitoring various devices and systems.

Joseph Shum

Joseph Shum was one of the earliest members of the Liferay team, joining the company in 2005 as a software engineer and architect in the professional services division. After working closely with clients and partners at companies like Intuit and Napster, Joseph's skills were redirected to building Liferay's international alliance program and assisting Liferay's partners to build successful solutions for customers.

Most recently, Joseph has been serving as Director of Operations of Liferay GmbH, Liferay's headquarters for the European market. In his new role, Joseph oversees the day-to-day operations of Liferay's second largest business unit, as well as overall sales and customer relationships throughout the European market. He holds a degree in Software Engineering from Lakehead University in Canada.

Alistair Oldfield

Alistair Oldfield has been an Emeldi Project Manager for the past 4 years for both Emeldi customer projects and internal R&D. He is specialized in project management in both banking and telecommunication technical projects with and during his time with Emeldi, has been ultimately responsible and successfully overseen over 55 Man Years of project lifecycles. Alistair's relevant skills include:

• Experience from mission critical Banking/Telco projects,
• Agile and standard project management
• Managing all phase of projects – from analysis, development to testing, UAT and production support

His past experiences include management of projects supplying major portal applications for such notable enterprises as:

• Banking: KBC, ING
• Telecommunications: TO2 Slovakia, TO2 Czech Republic

Alistair possesses a complementary mixture of both very strong business and technical/IT backgrounds and remains heavily involved throughout all phases of projects delivery.

Christian Brien

Mr. Christian Brien is the Chief Liferay Architect by the PRODYNA AG and has participated in many international large scale portal projects. He is responsible for the architecture behind all customer portal projects and the education of all PRODYNA portal consultants. Christian Brien holds a Diploma in Informatics from the Technical University of Ilmenau.

Dr. Jens Bruhn

Dr. Jens Bruhn is a senior IT-consultant and software architect at the PRODYNA AG. His focus lies on the application of Liferay as a foundation for employee portals. He is a member of the Portal Technology expert group and promotes the use of enterprise open source software within the company. Jens holds a B.S. and M.S. in Information Science from the University of Münster in addition to a doctor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Bamberg.

Christian Schmutz

Study Dipl. Wirtschaftsingenieur FH, Fachhochschule Ingolstadt 2000, before 2000 working as trademan in some smaller companies.

2000 Entry in EADS company, now Cassadian AG , a company of Airbus AG as programmer and Database Adminstrator.

Entry in AUDI AG 2001 as IT project leader for implementation webtecnology infrastructures such as IBM Websphere, Unix Systems.

Worked over 5 years in different functions within Application management for e. g. for Audi and other portals within the VW Group.

Worked est. 2 years as the general Solution Architekt within the organization which is responsible for support and steering processes. Innovation of some smaller open source tools.

Working now as IT project lead for e-Commerce topics serving the whole service process for customers. Providing e-shops for customers, retailer and whole sale within the AUDI AG Innovation of Liferay Portal at Audi IT.

Sergio González

Thiago Moreira

Thiago was a community member back on 2006 when, one year later, joined the Liferay family. His first role was core engineer for Liferay INC, later on he started to play the roles of trainner and consultant for Liferay Brazil, nowadays he is senior consultant.

Thiago has been leveraging the Liferay Brazilian community and is one of the most actively community members globally. As a Maven enthusiast he opened the Liferay world to the Maven users supporting plugins and repositories

Olaf Grimm

Olaf Grimm was born in 1967. He graduated as an engineer in technical computer science. For several years he was working in telecommunication and application-based development departments. His latest development projects allowed deep insight in service-oriented architectures and process development mechanisms.

As a senior solution architect the focus of the last four years moved to consulting and solution design services. The field of activity is accompanied as a trainer for the Siemens Enterprise Communications' Academy for Professional Training.

Stefan Thomé

Stefan Thomé is Managing Director at edicos Group and responsible for project business. For over 13 years he has built up a wealth of experience from a variety of large portal and WCMS projects - ranging from conceptual design, through to implementation and going live. His particular expertise is in J2EE architectures, Liferay Portal and OpenText ECM.

He holds a Diploma in Mathematical Sciences from the Technical University of Munich.

Yves P. Kising

Yves Kising is Senior IT Consultant at edicos Group in Munich since 2007. His work at edicos consists of conceptual design, implementation of portal solutions with Liferay and performance testing. Prior he studied at the Technical University of Munich and holds a diploma degree in Informatics.

Aleš Rybák

Aleš has been working in the role of the Portal specialist, Liferay senior developer and architect in IBA CZ, residing in Brno, Czech Republic for the last six years. He has been engaged with multiple commercial implementations, especially where the Liferay portal has been deployed, scaling from medium size to large implementations. Ales holds his Master's degree from the Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic where his major was Computer science. Recently he has taught the Enterprise Portal course in the Faculty of Informatics in the Masaryk University of Brno.

Jiří Kadlec

Jiří has been working in the company IBA CZ for four years as a team leader. He has gained experience with integration of Liferay with other systems such as (GINIS, MOSS, and ERP). Jiří worked as a team leader on a project for telecommunication operator which was one of the largest deployments of Liferay portal in the Czech Republic. This year his teams have successfully finished a two year project for Czech telecommunication institute. Nowadays, Jiří leads a team of professionals working on mobile technologies research based on Liferay portal HTML5. The main goal of research is to build up a mobile platform on Liferay including offline applications. Main concepts of this research will be part of the presentation.
