Fresh CE download / No wizard properties file

Somehow, my development version of ce trashed itself so I dl'd a new archive of 6.2 with Tomcat. When I start it now, no setup-wizard properties file gets created and the deploy directory gets moved to my home directory, not in the ce directory. it starts with a default home page and login box. Did something change in the archive?

Nevermind, I had to actually write over the liferay.home property. I don't remember ever having to do that before.

You probably have a portal-ext.properties file in your home folder, don't you?
Liferay for portal-ext.properties in several places.
