v6.0.6
have a portlet with form with fields and also attachment which sends fine (according to bizclient) for 5/6 hours and then thereafter only form fields go out but not attachment... temporary solutions are: redeploy portlet, or clear tomcat work

Well, seriously if there are any error logs or whatever, that would help. Otherwise you'd have to hook in a profiler to see where the memory's going...

might be PEBCAK in reality
form, submit with wrong captcha, then not noticing attachment is no longer selected ; I guess making file selected required after first submit might help
