The Liferay trademark was developed for the Liferay Community to foster the use of Liferay products and services as well as to protect the quality and mindshare associated with Liferay by individuals who are a part of the community.  Please see the Liferay Trademark Policy for detail.

Export Administration Regulations (EAR)

The export and re-export of the Licensed Software (in Source Code or Executable Code form) and any Liferay technology (including both technical data and technical assistance) is subject to export controls under the laws and regulations of the United States, including the U.S. Export Administration Regulations, and may also be subject to export and import controls under the laws and regulations of other countries. You ("User") agree, at all times, to comply fully with all such export and import laws and regulations of the United States and other countries. User specifically agrees that it will not otherwise export or re-export, directly or indirectly, the Licensed Software or the underlying information or technology (a) into (or to a national or resident of) Cuba, Iran, Iraq, Libya, North Korea, Syria or Sudan; (b) to anyone on the U.S. Treasury Department's list of Specially Designated Nationals or Other Blocked Persons, the U.S. Commerce Department's Denied Parties List, the U.S. Commerce Department's Entity List, or the U.S. Commerce Department's Unverified List; or (c) to or for any proliferation-related (nuclear weapons, missile technology, or chemical/biological weapons) end use. By downloading the Licensed Software, User agrees to the foregoing and represents and warrants that it is not (x) located in, under the control of, or acting on behalf of, or a national or resident of, any such country; (y) on any such list; or (z) involved in any such end use. User shall comply with the provisions of the United States Foreign Corrupt Practice Act of 1977, as amended ("FCPA") and all similar laws in other applicable jurisdictions. User (or its officers, directors, agents, and employees) shall not directly or indirectly make an offer, payment, promise to pay, or authorize payment, or offer a gift, promise to give, or authorize the giving of anything of value for the purpose of influencing an act or decision of an official of any government (including a decision not to act) or inducing such a person to use his influence to affect any such governmental act or decision in order to assist User in obtaining, retaining or directing any such business in relation to the Licensed Software. User will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Liferay from and against all loss, cost, liability, and expense arising from or related to any violation of the foregoing by User or any of its or their agents, officers, directors, or employees.

Export Control Classification Number (ECCN)

An ECCN is an alpha-numeric classification used in the Commerce Control List to identify items for export control purposes.

Liferay Portal and Liferay IDE Products are covered by ECCN 5D002 and the License Exception is ENC Unrestricted (740.17(b)(1)).
